Performacne ECU remapping explained

ECU remapping is when the settings on the cars engine control unit ( ECU) is customized to improve several areas of a vehicle's performance. Vehicles are remapped by reading the original car software out through the OBDII port of the car. In some rare cases, tuners cannot access the vehicles ECU through the OBD port. In such a case the ECU must be removed and programmed on the bench. Once tuners have the cars original software improvements can be made to the vehicles standard settings to increase the overall performance of the car. Once done the tuner will load the file back into the car and test the car to make sure that all the adjustments are safe and that the car performs as expected.

ECU remapping is the safest and easiest way to increase a vehicle's performance. All vehicles can easily be returned to the stock settings and don't require any additional hardware upgrades. However, should other bolt-on modifications such as intakes, intercoolers, bigger turbos and forged engine internals be present, Tuned2Race can write custom remapping software to ensure that all the performance parts work in unison with settings on the vehicles ECU.
